Energy Efficiency: Innovative Approaches. Proven Solutions

By Barry Worthingon, Executive Director, United States Energy Association (USEA)

The theme of this year’s Forum is “Energy Efficiency: Innovative Approaches. Proven Solutions” – placing the emphasis squarely on the technological advances and innovations in project funding mechanisms that are driving the growing impact of efficiency on our worldwide energy and climate challenges.

USEA is so proud to once again join Johnson Controls as a co-sponsor of the 2010 Energy Efficiency Forum, June 15-16, 2010, at the National Press Club in Washington D.C.

At the Leadership Awards Reception on the 15th and the Energy Efficiency Forum on the 16th, experts in energy efficiency, business leaders, policy makers, representatives from the Obama administration and others will come together for critical discussions about the role energy efficiency must play – and is playing – in the formation of international agreements, in energy and emission reduction strategies being developed by individual nations, and in the actions being taken by organizations and individuals at the local level.

And for the first time, the Energy Efficiency Forum presentations on June 16th will be webcast online, making it possible for anyone to view them live from anywhere on the planet. We are pleased to be partnering with the Virtual Energy Forum – the self-described “world’s largest online energy conference” – to make this possible. Look for details in the coming days and weeks.

Efficiency now. It’s never been more important.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson – a major speaker at last year’s Energy Efficiency Forum – said recently, “In the clean energy future, energy efficiency is action number one.”

Her words reflect what we are all seeing every day: more than ever before, organizations and governments around the world are focused on making buildings, vehicles and industries more energy efficient as their first means to cutting costs, creating jobs and addressing climate change. And again this year – for the 21st year in a row – the Energy Efficiency Forum will help advance that important cause.
